Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Agreement") govern your access to and use of Transcribe Video to Text (the "Service"), operated under Kobaltstack LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The service
Transcribe Video to Text turns the speech in videos you play in your browser into text. It uses video subtitles when they exist and AI speech recognition when they do not.
2. License
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to access and use Transcribe Video to Text for its intended purpose.
3. Accounts
You can use the free features without an account. Some features, including paid plans, require signing in with Google. A paid plan belongs to the Google account you bought it with and works in every Chrome profile where you sign in with that account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
4. Free and paid plans
- The free plan includes YouTube transcripts from subtitles and a monthly allowance of AI transcription. We may change the size of the free allowance.
- Paid plans (Lite and Pro) add a monthly number of minutes of AI transcription, as listed on the pricing page. Subscription plans, pricing and billing cycles are as described within Transcribe Video to Text at the time of purchase. Unused minutes do not carry over.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time. After cancelling you keep your plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
- We may change pricing on a going-forward basis with reasonable notice: the new price applies from your next billing period, and we will tell you before it does.
5. Acceptable use and restrictions
Transcribe only content you have the right to access. You are responsible for how you use the transcripts. You agree not to, and will not permit others to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on the Service
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the Service
- Try to bypass usage limits, for example by reinstalling the extension or creating many accounts
We may limit or suspend access for accounts that abuse the service.
6. Accuracy
Speech recognition and AI summaries can contain mistakes, especially with music, noise, strong accents or several people speaking at once. Check important text before relying on it.
7. Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
8. Your feedback
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without restriction or compensation to you.
9. Intellectual property
The Service and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Kobaltstack LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission, except as expressly permitted by this Agreement.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will always be available or work on every website. We may change, add or remove features. If a change removes something you paid for, you can ask for a refund for the unused part of your plan.
11. Term and termination
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated by you or by us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you violate this Agreement. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kobaltstack LLC's total liability arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of your country.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kobaltstack LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of this Agreement.
15. Governing law and disputes
This Agreement is governed by the laws applicable to Kobaltstack LLC, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from this Agreement will first be addressed through informal negotiation by contacting us at support@transcribevideototext.app. If unresolved within 60 days, either party may pursue the dispute through binding arbitration or another mutually agreed process.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
17. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Entire agreement
This Agreement, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Kobaltstack LLC regarding Transcribe Video to Text and supersedes any prior agreements on this subject.
